Flowers from Quarantine

During the months of February to May of 2020 in the height of lockdown, I catalogued over 30 wildflowers and flora observed on daily walks around my neighborhood in South Austin, TX.

It started as a mindfulness practice in the midst of quarantine, working from home, and living with a chronic illness. Soon it transformed into a ritual and a form of connection during a time of isolation. Compiling a printed collection of hand-illustrated wildflowers allowed me to meaningfully interact with others from afar during a time of social distancing.

Enveloped in a unique watercolored cover, hand bound with embroidery string, these 24 illustrated flowers are together in a pocket size guide made with hikers, homeschoolers and Montessori learners in mind.
